5 Ways to Killer Article Research

When it comes to researching articles, we need to be in control of the task. This applies especially, if we know nothing about the subject we want to write about. To write an article without some partial article research is just like sipping a cup of coffee without actually tasting it. It would be a waste of time. Not only yours, but also your prospective readers. When it comes down to killer article research you need to “suss” out your competition first. Look at what they are doing right. And what they might do wrong.

By looking at our competition, we get a lot of inspiration for new ideas. Taking an existing article and spinning your input into it is exciting and quite easy to achieve, provided you are somewhat familiar with the topic.

Let’s look at some ways to do killer article research.

1)   When you have spark about an article idea, look at the websites of your competition to get further inspiration. Often when we do this, we receive a flow of ideas and materials to use for our article. By browsing on the internet we can find hidden treasures, such like open source materials we can use for our articles. I found that when I’m most relaxed about performing the task I seem to write better. My creativity flows better and I find it easier to knock up an article in 15-20 minutes. If I put pressure onto me by stressing about my article research everything goes wrong. And that’s when I get writers block.

2)  Search Engines would have to be my favorite way of killer article research. Why, because it is so easy and effective. I can find information on just about anything on the click of a mouse in next to no time. I start of with a search term and narrow it down to what I’m looking for. Years of experience make this way of killer article research like a second nature to me. If I was to get paid from Google for every time I perused their service, I would be stinking rich by now.

3)  Killer article research can also be done via print media such as newspapers and magazines. Especially if you are writing an article on a niche market, browsing through a related “paper” will certainly help to understand the topic better. It helps us to understand the niche more and allows us to transform the learnt information into an article.

4)  I purposely haven’t included books into print media, even though they are. It’s because they are such a powerful way of doing killer article research. Just from reading one book you would have the ability to write hundreds of articles. No kidding! Just think about how many chapters there are in an average book. You could write many different articles on each chapter without copying a single sentence. Now spin that into a whole book and it will give you killer article research for many months if need be. So books are a sure fire way to produce killer article research.

5)   Last but not least, nothing can beat expertise. If you have experience you can write a book or two. Knowing your subject will allow you to engage your creative writing juices and using ways to find killer article research will not fall into the equation. Knowing your subject is hands down the best way to simply produce a killer article without research!
