I don't know why, but people love statistics. Most don't do a darn thing with them, but people love statistics. Do YOU love statistics? Well, if you do and you're into email marketing or interested in getting into email marketing, these statistics may surprise you, or not. Hopefully, you'll find them useful and they will give you some idea of whether or not it's going to be worth running that brand new email campaign of yours.
Okay, here's a great statistic and a question that I get asked a lot. What's
the best day of the week to send out your email campaign? Well, I was going to
say
What about the best time to send emails? Well, it seems that this would be
either early in the morning or late in the evening. Most likely this is because
early in the morning people are just getting into work and the first thing they
do is check their email.
Here's a stat that a lot of people are interested in. What percent of your emails do you think get delivered and does it matter which ISP it is? Well, the answer to the second part of that question is that it most certainly DOES matter. Many ISPs are notorious for blocking emails, no matter how clean they are. For example, while CompuServe only blocks 11.8% of all emails coming in, which is the best, Excite blocks, hold onto your hat, 50.7% of all emails coming in. So, if you have an Excite account, forget about getting many of the emails that you're looking for.
I could go on, but I think that's enough for now. Did you find those statistics interesting? Will they help you with your email marketing? I hope so. As for myself, I just send the mail and hope for the best.
