Fueling Your Writers Passion

When it comes to writing we have to find the inspiration to keep us from falling prey to writers block. As a professional writer we need to be able to write at the drop of a coin and come up with some good content. For experienced writers this is not a problem really, as experience will certainly help with the creativity. It just becomes easier to write, when you do it everyday. It’s like driving a bicycle really. The more training you have, the faster you drive. So what can we do, to stop us from stalling when trying to be creative? For starters, it helps if you keep a log file on all things that inspire you. Say you are interested in scrap booking and want to write articles about the craft. Try to get into the habit of writing out any great idea or inspiration that pops into your head throughout the day. All you need is a line or two to get into the flow of things. It would be a good idea to sort those teasers into files depending on subjects. For your scrap booking teasers you simply create a file on your hard drive called “scrap booking teasers” and write anything worthy into a text file, then save it in that file. When you find yourself struggling with writers block, simply peruse those teaser files for inspiration. You will be surprised how quick you will finish your article based on ideas you noted down earlier. The more “teaser files” you manage to create over time, the easier it will be to find a suitable subject quickly when needed.

The second method of beating writers block is to surf the internet. There are virtually millions of articles out there. You can personalize most of them and make them your own. Given however, that you UNDERSTAND the subject written about! This is very important. You won’t be able to change an existing article into your own writing, if you don’t understand what it’s about in the first place. So stick to subjects you are familiar with and always change the content to make it your own. If you simply copy and paste you run the risk of violating copyright terms of the original author. To make things worse, you will only create duplicate content which is not liked by the search engines. They will simply blacklist your website if they find this happening. To change the content, re-write the article in YOUR OWN WORDS. The best way to do this is to open the original article and beside that open a new text file like notepad or word. You can then toggle between the two of them. This makes the whole process much faster.

Carry a small notepad with you wherever you go. You will find many situations that might inspire you to write about at some stage in the future. But if you don’t take notes, you will most likely forget about them. I get inspired by reading books and surfing the internet. I never struggle to get ideas to write an article. When I do, I simply surf the net and get inspired again. It’s the quickest way to get a dose of writers passion.
