The Benefits of Building a Website

Building a website has many benefits to any business, even if they are mainly an offline business. The most obvious reason to build a website in the first place would be the viral nature of the internet. The power of viral marketing is tremendous and being able to showcase your business via the means of building a website is indeed very powerful to say the least.

See what happens if you don’t have a website: Just imagine being the owner of a traditional shop within a community. To get new customers you will need to be in a physical position where people pass by your shop every day. Unless they know your shop exists, you will find it very hard to do business. Sure, as a small shop owner in the real world, you gain customers by word of mouth. But this only applies, if they are happy with your product and your services.

The other option to gain new customers would be to advertise. But as you might know, traditional advertising has sent many business owners into bankruptcy. It just isn’t viable for a small business. If you operate a huge offline business, the chances of being able to pay for your advertising costs are better. Mass chain businesses find it easier to get funds as they can be much more competitive in the market place.
They buy their wares in higher batches which makes the acquiring of the product cheaper. Therefore they are able to pass those savings onto the customer. Big chains will never run out of customers as long as they stay competitive. They often use the power of building a website along with their already successful business strategies.

To be able to build a website and attract customers via the means of viral marketing just can’t be beat. If your website is listed in the search engines, you will attract buyers. But there is one huge problem. What if the website is buried under tons of others? Nobody would ever even know you even exist!
To counteract that problem you have many cost effective options to be able to assure that that doesn’t happen. The secret is to get to the top two pages of the search engines. That’s easier said than done and will be food for another article.

You have to make yourself known. Once people do know of your existence, they will be drawn toward you if you are offering them a solution to their problem. The benefit of having a website allows us to spread the word to millions of online shoppers. We simply can’t do that if we have an offline business. Unless the name of the business is Mac Donald’s of course. With Mac Donald’s one important factor plays a huge role in their success. That factor is called “brand power recognition”. If you have the ability to build a brand for yourself, you will have customers flocking to you without much further do. Using a website to build your brand would be a first step for a small business. Build a website and expand from there.

If you want to utilize the powers of the internet for your business, you simply need to get a website. The benefits of building a website will be many folds. Having the ability to reach out to millions of online shoppers surely must hold some attraction to you?

A Note from me: If you are at a total loss of finding ways to build your website, you are welcome to send me an email to info @ thewritersmanifesto dot com. I’m quite experienced of building blogs and websites from templates. I’m not a coder, but whatever you see here and on my website has been done by myself. In the process I have learned a lot. I am able to do this for a reasonable payment.
