The Power of Business Competition

If you are believer of the fact that business competition is bad for ones business, then think again. Being in competition with other businesses in the same field of work is beneficial for those who see the power of this. Business competition gives us the power to strive for perfection. By creating awareness of our competitors we need to be creative at finding ways to be one step ahead of them. A lack of business competition would simply mean that we would become stagnant in our day to day operations. If there is nobody else pushing our boundaries by offering the same product in the marketplace we have no need to better ourselves.

Just take research for example. We need to consistently research our field of expertise, if we want to be part of the leadership. By having business competition, we wake up to the fact that by having competition we have to strive for perfection every single day. We can’t let our guard down. If we do, it can be a very costly experience simply due to lack of interest. Competition is a game we learn to play when we are in business. But it doesn’t have to be nasty! I much rather stay in friendly business competition and form friendships and business alliances than trying to cut each others throat. The ocean of opportunity is big enough for all of us. And even though there can only be one at the top, it doesn’t mean we all can’t share the rest of the fortune. Some will get more and some will get less. By striving to outplay our competition we can always progress further up the food chain.

Business competition will raise our awareness of past and present mistakes. By looking at what we could have done better it will make us stronger in the future and therefore a better business person. If we learn from our mistakes by looking at our businesses competition, then this will enable us to become a stronger force in the future.
What I like most about my competitors is the fact that I have and am constantly forming new friendships. By helping each other to grow, we all get better and stronger. It is a great way to be competitive without hurting each other in the process.

We all have acquired knowledge from experience. Learning about certain parts of our field from a business competition owner or from a business friend grows our knowledge base. It creates action by having to do research and learn more.
Being aware of this also puts us in touch with the leaders of the field. Only those who care to better themselves in business see the vale of this and therefore they do everything possible to learn and further themselves. Often this can lead us to come up with a great new product, idea or even setting a new trend. Recognizing the fact that business competition can be a great advantage for your business will help you to become a stronger and better business owner.
