Thoughts become Things

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ar... | 06.11.2007 - 4:33 pm

Have you heard the saying “be careful of what you think about because it might materialize into reality”? I have and after years of sabotaging myself with my thoughts I have finally come to understand how powerful our thoughts really are.
As a kid I was a day dreamer, shut away in my own little world of fantasy, hopes and dreams. Unfortunately my parents didn’t understand the power of day dreaming and what it can do for a human. They ridiculed me and told me to stop dreaming. It’s sad really because I have wasted years of my life trying to stop day dreaming when in its effects it is the best thing we can do to positively change our future into our dreams. But my parents don’t understand this, even today and I feel sorry for them in a way, as they never had and will have the power to change their lives for the better. They will simply keep doing what they have done for the past 60+ years and never even come close to their dreams.

Thoughts are governed by an irrefutable law
. As one of the laws of the universe, the law of thinking is the one that will affect us the most. Whether our thoughts are negative, or positive it doesn’t matter. Whatever we think about most will become reality. I know too well myself. Without realizing it I had achieved 3 of my lives dreams by consistently thinking about those things. I wanted them so badly, that they were part of my thinking every single day for years. The actions I took were due to the thoughts I was thinking at the time. Those actions allowed me to fulfill my dreams into a reality I was longing for.

I created little scrapbooks where I pasted some pictures of the things I wanted. Looking at those scrapbooks of mine it enabled me to day dream about living in the country I wanted so much to live. It also enabled me to travel the world and start my own home business.
I consistently pictured myself in those situations. What I didn’t realize is that I managed to achieve those wishes with the power of my dreams. Today I know that I did achieve this because of my thoughts. If I had known this in the past, I could have stopped myself from doing some silly things that slowed down my progress immensely.
When my thoughts were negative, they eventually resulted into the outcomes I so desperately wanted to avoid. It is kind of an irony but it also is the truth. So naturally I slowed myself down towards achieving my goals by stop and go – stop and go. Depending on how my thoughts were at the time the outcome would either be positive or negative.

If you think about your own thoughts and where you are right now, do you think that by changing those thought you might have achieved a different outcome for yourself? If you do, then you understand the power of thought and your biggest challenge at this stage is probably to keep those thoughts focused on being positive.
If you don’t believe that you have the powers to change your destiny with your thoughts, then you are in for a shock.

The truth of the matter is that thoughts become things! Whether you worry about your work, your money or your love life, or you are day dreaming thinking good thoughts. They will become and materialize into what you have thought about in the past. You current life is the actual materialization of your past thoughts. The sooner you recognize this principle, the better your future will be. If you deliberately turn your wishes into reality by using the power of your thoughts, then you too can be living the life of your dreams.
Whatever it is, that you so much desire, it only lays a thought away. I dare you to explore the power of thought and see how easy it is to change your life for the better.

Great post and interesting concept!

I find it way too easy to make negative things come true.

When I was practicing as a hypnotherapist and I wanted the phone to ring with new clients, somtimes it actually did! But often, when I felt like I needed a break, all I had to do was wish that the clients for the day would cancel and lo and behold they would do just that and I’d regret it because it meant another bill had to go unpaid!

I have found that the power of negative thought is usually much more effective than the power of positive thought!
