Branding a Business Name

Successful businesses have one thing in common. A name brand! Branding a business name requires more than just launching a business and telling the world about it. Whether your business is a big corporation or a small one man/women operation isn’t relevant. What is the fact that we need to establish a name brand, if we want to be making it big. Just look at companies like Google or Mc Donald’s. They have managed to successfully brand themselves and evolving as a market leader. Let’s look at ways we can implement to branding a business name.

It all starts with a mission. As a business we need structure, designs and plans on where we are headed. What services to we offer, which market are we targeting? We don’t need to offer the best service in the market we choose to brand a business name. But what we do need is consistency and marketing skills. If you take Mc Donald’s as a typical example; they don’t make the best burgers by far. Actually they are quite average. But why do they manage to attract millions upon millions of visitors who keep going back for more?

The first point would be their consistency of serving you the same burger every time you visit. Whether it is every week, or years apart, you can be sure that your Mc Donald’s cheeseburger will taste the same every time! This is in essence the secret of successful branding of a business name. Knowing what to expect makes it easy for the customer. The customer wants easy! So if they are feeling like a cheeseburger, they go to Mc Donald’s knowing what they will get. That’s also why certain restaurants do better than others. They understand the importance of quality assurance. Their meals are always presented the same way; they taste the same way and so on.

The second step in branding a business name would be to understand the importance of marketing. Big corporations have huge budgets to do this. But money is not necessarily the means to this. Sure it helps, but it can also be done on small budgets. So how do we brand ourselves as a small business? Start with your name, whether it be YOUR name, or a business name, keep it consistent. Be transparent for your customers but stay ahead of the game. They should know what to expect from you. Being able to surprise those in a positive way will only help you to brand a better business name for yourself.

I think in order to successfully brand a business name we need to stay true to us. No matter what others are saying. Stick with your plan and go for it. If you manage to establish credibility, trust and consistency mixed with staying true to yourself you have the foundation of branding a business name for your business.
