Is it Worth To Invest Time into Blogging?

When I visit online forums people always ask whether it is worth to blog. My answer would be you bet it is! Investing your time into blogging is not only worth it, it is in my eyes an essential addition to any online business. Those who realized this started to blog years ago. Others such as me are a bit slower and only started recently. But it is never too late to invest time into blogging. With today’s web 2.0 blogging is more and more the driving force behind online business practice. Blogs are also responsible for the best search engine rankings because of their structure. Those that do invest their time into blogging know this.

Blogs are not static; they constantly evolve because of the frequency they get updated by. So naturally it makes sense that writing a blog will help to get indexed sooner by the search engines. They just love blogs. For you this means free traffic and if you know how to work keywords, it means lots of free traffic! Investing your time into blogging is also a free albeit time consuming way to promote your web site with. What I see happening more and more these days is that marketers actually use their blog as or instead of a web site. This makes perfect sense to me.

Just take social book marking sites. They make it easy for any reader to stay in touch of what you are up to at any time. They can subscribe to your blogs updates with a couple of mouse clicks. But before you run away to become a serious blogger read on.

There are some important things to consider before investing your time into blogging. First, you need to blog about things you feel passionate about. If you lack passion and knowledge about your blogs topic, people will know. Nothing is more contagious than passion. It will simply shine through to your readers.
Secondly, once you made the commitment to be part of the blogging phenomena, you need to be able to commit to blogging by investing time at least 3 times per week. Blogs that don’t get updated frequently are soon abandoned by their readers. To keep them interested you will need to feed them your bits of wisdom. That’s why they are coming in the first place.

The more frequently you blog, the more attracted the search engine spiders will be to your blog, which will result in extra free traffic. Don’t forget an important step after investing your time into blogging – ping your blog. By pinging your blog you will tell the search engine spiders that there is new content ready to be read.
