Brand Yourself Like John Reese

John Reese is one smart cookie. Not because he is making millions on the Internet. No, because he has understood the need to brand his own name a long time ago and risen from the debts of an unknown marketer to making Internet millions as a well known Internet marketer. I never saw this need myself until not so long ago. It’s not that I never heard about the YOU Inc. but I never gave it enough weight to have considered it important in the past.

The first time I stumbled across this mention was by reading Mike Dillard’s magnetic sponsoring manual. It talks about establishing the YOU brand if you want to successfully market yourself. And it makes perfect sense to me now. People don’t want to be sold to – point – end. That is the fact of life. try to sell your wares to others and you will find them running a mile. So how can we circumnavigate this, since most of us do have the purpose to sell things?

The answer is: we need to become masters at marketing! Yep, it is really that easy. On print that is anyway. It sounds easy, but there is some work involved before we do become marketing kingpins. People need to learn to trust us, before they buy from us. Their need needs to be so big that they sell themselves to us instead of the other way round. In order to get to that point we need to establish credibility and trust. Credibility comes with fame, trust comes with integrity and being true to yourself. The person you are. If people like YOU, then they will come back to your site and eventually buy from you. If they don’t they will disappear forever.

So how do we establish a brand name? There are many things we can do to gain credibility, and FYI I have listed a few ideas below. They might help you to become a well known marketer much like John Reese.

  • Register YOUR name as a domain name and build a website about you (mine is in the works right now)
  • Alternatively build a site on YouTube or MySpace.
  • Use your own name in forums
  • Always answer your personal email
  • Form JV’s with well known marketer
  • Launch your own product
  • Start your own forum

John Reese and many other famous Internet marketers have seen this need a while ago and it has served them well. I’m not saying that by establishing the YOU brand you will become another John Reese, but the least it can do is to raise your Internet profile to something more than it currently is.

    Great Post!

People read a blog because they like You, and what you are about. Not because they want to be “sold” on whatever it is you selling…

Speaking of which I added you to my reader and stumbled. You’ve got some great info!

    Have a wonderful week,
    Heather

    Exactly Heather,

The thing is that many new marketers are afraid to use their real name because they think they will make a fool of themselves by having to admit they don’t know everything.

Guess what, they couldn’t be further from the truth. I wish I had done this when I first got started.

Thank you for your nice comment and adding me. Your blog is very informative as well. Had already a sticky peek.

    Wishing you Success

    Monika
