Favicon is Now Featured On my Blog
Hey, I just uploaded my first favicon to my blog. What do you think? I decided to much around with a free image manipulating software and that s what I came up with.
I know that I posted about favicons a little way back. They are actually a great web2.0 tool that should be utilized by bloggers and website owners for the fact that they enhance our branding. By having your very own unique favicon
you can set yourself apart from millions of other online users. It’s kind of like a signature of your website/blog.
To create your very own favicon you can play around and create your own, or alternatively head over to HTML Kit
and use their free service to create a favicon from an existing image on your hard drive.
You then have the option to download the zip file and after you unzipping it, upload it via FTP to your root directory (/home/username/public_html) Next you need to go to your blog template and insert the following code between the <head> </head> tags.
<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/ico" href="/favicon.ico" />
That’s it, if you reload your page, you should be able to see your brand new favicon. Let me know, how you went, so that I can come and check it out.

Right on on creating your favicon. I really dig my favicon on my site. Right now I’m trying to make it the world’s most creative website.
You’ll notice after a few months that the favicon file will become your site’s most requested file.

Sometimes IE just don’t like favicons
To test it in Internet Explorer, add your site to Favorites and reopen browser. It may be necessary to clean the browser history.

Cheers for the tip Joliveira. I’m sure this will help others who seem to have the same issue with the display of favicons.
