I’m writing this blog posts to help make as many people aware that there are currently fraudulent emails circulating the net claiming to be sent from Pay Pal. I received an email today stating that a particular amount had been deducted from my Pay Pal account through a purchase I have made on EBay. The thing is that I never bought anything that resembled the said transaction.
What made me aware of the fact that it could be a scam was the claimers supposed email account which was something at yahoo. The email was addressed to me from services@paypal.com which is clearly a fraud. I sent the fraudulent email directly on tho Pay Pal and they are currently investigating.
The problem with these emails is the fact that many click on the links contained within these “official”looking emails. This is exactly what the scam artists are hoping to achieve. By clicking on the links they will be able to harvest your private information and clean you out in no time. So please BE AWARE and never follow any links in a dodgey looking email. To report a fraud you can contact spoof@paypal.com
Hope this helps
