And it was so damn easy I can’t believe I didn’t do this any earlier. It was done within 5 minutes and is now running on the latest Word Press update. All I did was to install the Word Press Automatic Upgrade Plugin and off I was. Before I did this I went into my Cpanel admin and backed up my MSQL database just in case. Then back to the blog and by following the few steps it was quickly done. The upgrade even disables all the plugins for you which is essential for a smooth changeover. After that you just have to double check whether they are all activated as before and you should be fine to go.
That’s it guys and you won’t believe how quickly it is done either. Get the plugin through the link above, activate it and then follow the steps to upgrade. Make sure you back up too prior to starting just in case you stuff things up. Which by the way would be quite hard to do.
Good luck and happy upgrading

I use the same plugin! works great.
Yes it does and I have wasted so much time doing this because i kept putting it off. I thought it was too complicated and would take me hours instead of 5 minutes.
Oh well one never stops learning.

[...] a meme out to Steven to update it from 2.0.7 (gasp!) to 2.3! And congratulations to The Writer’s Manifesto for having upgraded to [...]
I wish I hadn’t upgraded to v2.3. I’ve noticed heaps of bugs with incompatible plugins…
Jerry,
I know, I’ve had some issues with certain plugins not working at all. So at present I just disable them. With the range of them on the market there is plenty of choice for now.
