Last Month’s Group Writing Project over at BlueJar was so much fun for me, that I have decided to host my own for October. I met so many new bloggers, had a lot of fun and even made new friends. Bloggers love writing and Sarah’s project gave every participant a lot of exposure and traffic. I really love “tutorials”. I thought it to be a good way to get some instructional blog posts happening that can help others.
Rules:
Rules are simple and includes any blogger that hasn’t got either an illegal, pornographic, racist or gaming blog. You can write a blog post about any topic as long as you stay true to your blogs overall theme. The post has to be in a “tutorial” form and doesn’t have to have the word “tutorial” in the post title. You could write a tutorial about “creating an ebook” “swimming with dolphins” “writing a blogpost”. Whatever you feel is suitable to you. Once you blogged about it, make sure you contact me so I can include you.
Prizes:
I love prizes and having won some myself last month I thought it only fair to give back. So from this month on I put up 10 % of my last month earnings as competition prizes either here or over at my new JV blog with Terry on Blogging Web 2.0.
1st Place: $ 50 paid with PayPal
2nd Place: A month long spot on my top left hand side navigation under the Featured section. I get over 400 actual visitors per day now so you should get some good exposure.
3rd Place: A personal review of your blog/website done by myself and hyper linked with the choice of your keyword back to you.
The Judges:
All the bloggers who enter will judge the winners. They will get to pick their top 3 choices by blogging about it for 1 week until the 27th. October on their blog after the deadline which is on October 20, 2007 at midnight PST. Feel free to post the runner ups as well but you don’t have to. I will personally visit each blog post and correlate all the votes.
Winners:
Will be announced here on October 30th.
If you have questions, then please use the contact form or comment below. I wish every entrant the best of luck and may the best judged “tutorial” win.

Hi there
I blogged about your contest on Contest Beat here - http://www.contestbeat.com/tutorial-group-writing-contest/
All we do is write about contests in the blogosphere so hopefully we can send you a few more entries too!
Regards, Matt.
Hi Monika,
This is a great idea - you are really pushing out the boundaries here and I reckon you’ll do really well! Your Alexa is getting better and better too - you’re must surely overtake me pretty soon as your visitor stats are much better than mine.
As for your contest - I might even post one myself time permitting! BTW this blog layout is growing on me…
Terry
Hey Matt & Terry,

Hi Monika! Great contest. I was similiarly inspired by the Blue Jar contest (although I was too late to post an entry to it). I set up a similar writing contest over at: http://superfundraiser.com/blog/back-to-school-writing-contest/
Today is the last day to enter, so if you have time consider submitting an entry.
I’ll put my thinking cap on for your contest as well. Should be fun!
I just blogged about this for you as well as stumbling etc (you know, the usual promos) to give you more exposure!
Good luck with it
Terry

Jennifer,
I’m sorry but as I write this I have to be at work in 30minutes. As I won’t get home until about 11 PM I won’t be able to partake in your Group Writing Project. But I wish you good luck with it and look forward to seeing you taking part f this one.
Monika
Terry,
Thanks for this I look forward to hopefully many entries. Otherwise I’ll have to go and eat the money away. LOL

That’s a great idea. I’d love to take part in it, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to come up with any ideas for a decent tutorial. I’m afraid my tips wouldn’t be the most relevant ever. *embarrassed* Anyway, I’ll certainly read the final entries.
I really like the new look, and your competition sounds interesting. Won’t promise, but I will give it some thought and see if I can do an eligible post.
Karen,
You have certainly a lot to offer and I would love to see you partake in this competition. :-)It doesn’t have to be Internet marketing related either.
David,
Thanks for the heads up on my new look. I love it and am glad I finally got to it. Feels like a huge burden has been taken off my shoulders.
Also I’d love to see your entry as well. The more the merrier I think.
Monika
Hi Monika, great idea - I think I’ll enter my Setting the best permalinks post - do you think it sounds like a tutorial post enough?
Karthik,
Posts will have to be written in October for this contest. Your was posted in September and unfortunately this doesn’t count.
Sorry but I have to keep the rules fair to everyone.
Hope you understand
Monika
Lol, sure - I’ll add another entry then
Seeing I have over 10 days to go, I’ll think up something - hope its any good!

Great idea for a contest. I’m a big fan of tutorials, especially tech ones. I write HOWTOs over at (link removed by admin), I’ll have to pick an October one that is contest worthy =)

No worries Tim,
I had to remove your link in the message as I don’t tolerate them. You get a backlink anyway by commenting as I do follow.
I look forward to receive your entry.
Monika
Monica thanks for letting the Carnival of Australia participants know about this.
I hope there will be a few more entries.
Can’t wait to start voting on the 20th.
Take care and stay safe - here (again) via the Carnival of Australia
Megan,
You are welcome. I hope so too as at the moment the whole thing is a bit slow. But then I imagine things will speed up a bit as it gets closer to the deadline.
In the end, if it is only a few that participate the chances of winning the $50 will increase.
Good luck Megan
Monika
Here’s my part in speeding up the entries
(Since you mentioned you don’t appreciate links in the comments, I’ve linked the entry to my name - as promised, its a spanking new post:) )
Would I need to mail the link all the same?
And, looking forward to reading the other impressive posts on the 20th - all the best everyone!
Hi Karthik,
That’s great, I have noted you down for the contest and also attaching links to name is great as this is what people are supposed to do and will give you link juice anyway.
Good luck in participating and thank you for the great entry
Monika
Monika, thanks for entering me - lets hope this project is a big success
Karthik,
You are very much welcome. I hope so too that’s for sure.

The post counts and no, only one entry per person.
If you could maybe submit this via email to me that would be great. It makes it easier for me to keep track of all entries.
Cheers and thanks

Hi Aseem,
Yes I have, and I also sent you an email on the same day you submitted the entry. Obviously you didn’t get it. ;-(
You are noted down and will be featured as an entrant.

I will also blog about it here in the not too distant future.
Thanks
