Writers Manifesto Weekly Ink Link Love 7.10.2007

I can’t believe how quick this week has gone by. Besides blogging for Gobala Krishnan I have at present 2 other online jobs that pay me week by week. I also scored another project on a freelance site and it looks like I might be able to write for a well known blogger in the future too.

It was actually Gobala who gave me the strength to pursue a writing career all those month ago. Having been blogging for him since July this year, it was him that told me initially how good my writing was. As you can imagine, this gave me a huge boost in self esteem and made me having a real go at it. I knew that I had some talent as a writer and I also know that my writing will always become better as I practice the craft while blogging and freelancing. But getting a great compliment from a great marketer like Gobala has a very special meaning to me.

So thank you Gobala for giving me the confidence to get going as a writer. :-) I also get inspired every day from all of you in the blogosphere. There are so many great bloggers out there and it is so refreshing to see somebody else’s view on life at times.

I love nothing more than opening my blog admin and seeing many comments from all of you. So to those that believe in me and keep coming back to read my ramblings I bow to you and say “Thank You”.

This week links are dedicated to some new faces here that have commented and they deserve a mention.

Kartik is a blogger like so many of us. On the quest to make money online he spreads his wisdom about blogging related topics. His blog contains many useful and very interesting posts and I urge you to go and read what he says to say.

A great marketer with a huge knowledge base is Steven, he has been stopping over here frequently of late and commented on a few topics. Steve’s and my path have crossed a bit lately as we seem to be subscribed and read the same kind of blogs.

Grizzly is an old friend of mine. I met him many months ago on the Why Do Work forum and he is a great marketer who understands the secrets to high SERP’s.

The Warrior Blog’s author Sean writes great content and knows a great tactic or two to get good traffic.

Chessnoid got sick of the Blogrush widget and got rid of it. I followed suit as I don’t like it at all anymore. I’m trying to install Sarah’s code “what others are saying’ instead. This will enable me to link to the sites I feel are worth a mention.

A lens master is Carlo by the looks of it. He talks tech and all things more complicated regarding technical usage of applications.

I’m a great fan of personal development which is due to my time in MLM in the past. Reading inspiring books or quotes are a great source of motivation when the going is tough. I really love David Rogers site. He has many great posts regarding this topic and you will be assured to get your little gem of inspiration from him.

To all of you, thank you for taking the time to stop by and read what I had to say.

Take care

Monika

I got rid of that Blogrush spam device almost as soon as it came out.

I wasn’t happy with it at all as it just seemed to be a device for making the top blogs even more popular and leaving the rest of us even further behind! :-(

    Hi Monika,
Thanks for the mention. I hope you continue to get more paid jobs that you can handle. I gave this post a plug and a stumble. I know what you mean by getting motivation from reading all these other blogs and meeting great people online. It is very addictive for me.
    Cheers!
    ;)

Thanks a lot for the mention Monika, I really appreciate the fact that you enjoy reading my blog – its enthusiastic readers like you that keeps me blogging :)

For some reason, the link didn’t show up on my Dashboard and I happened to chance by it on Technorati – glad I did!

And its not only Gobala on your list of fans, you’ve got one more ;)

Do continue the good work and keep blogging! :)

    To Terry, Chessnoid & Karthik,

Terry: That’s exactly what I was thinking too about the shameless promotion of the top blogs that are already receiving tons of traffic and we help them with it. :-(

Chessnoid: Talking about addiction.:-) I’m a sucker for exactly that and I thank you for your stumbling and plugin.

Karthik: Thank you for your inspirational words. This is what makes me pursuing my blogging. Hearing feedback like yours. :-)

About the link, I will have to double check as for some reason Terry mentioned something too. I have the Lucias Link Love Plugin installed and activated and it is set at 0 which means the comments should link instantly to anybody commenting.

Not sure whether this is because of the upgrade and the plugin not being compatible or whether I stuffed something up myself????? I’ll have to investigate and follow up on that.

    Cheers

    Monika

I’m not sure – the links do seem to have nofollow on them to me. If the plugin doesn’t work with 2.3, may I suggest the one that I use?

  6. Karthik | Oct 8, 2007 | Reply

Just noticed that the link to the plugin that I posted in the previous comment doesn’t seem to have been nofollow’d. Its just the names – sorry if that was what you meant!

    Hi Karthik,

Thanks for pointing this out to me. After Terry mentioned something along the lines it is clear that Lucia’s Link Love plugin doesn’t compare with the new upgrade.

I have de-activated that one and installed the one you suggested. Thanks for that and please let me know if you get a do-follow now. :-)

Yes, both the links in the post and the names are being linked back – glad to know its working well for you :)

    Great news,
I’m glad that’s sorted. Thank you for the tip Karthik, I was wondering what the heck was going on? ;-)

I see I’m a little tardy in thanking you for the link and kind comments. You are as always a sweetheart. I’m really glad to see how far you have come in such a short period of time and I’ve noticed your winning personality has made you lots of friends in this biz. You are an easy person to cheer for. Keep at it and talk soon.
