This years Blog Action Day topic is the environment. In today’s time and day we really need to concern ourselves with the environment.
We simply cannot shut our eyes to how we as humans have stuffed up the world as it is and if we don’t act NOW, then we will face the consequences pretty soon.
Looking at recent tragedies like the boxing day tsunami is directly related to how we treat our environment. If we all think that it doesn’t matter what we do on a smaller scale, then we need to think again as it certainly does matter.
I want to raise awareness of the amount of rubbish that gets thrown out of car windows here in Australia. It is an absolute disgrace and people who do this because they think its cool or because they are simply too lazy to use a bin, they need to take a serious look into the mirror.
We need to start treating the earth on which we live on with the respect it deserves. Treating mother earth like a dump certainly isn’t my idea of respect.
I haven’t even thrown a single chewy out onto the streets since I was 11. I realized at a young age that we can all do our share and on many occasions I have told others of because they threw things into the road.
So please, if you read this and have an ounce of self consciousness, then please think about this next time when you are about to throw something into the road.
Thank you and please spread the message it will help us all.
Monika

Hey Monika,
It’s a small but assertive message.
Blog Action Day Pollutes, user-generated power coming soon
Yes we really do need to stop and think before we get rid of anything. I wrote about freecycling on my blog action day post, where if you have an old item that still works you should share it with someone that needs it rather then throw it in landfill.
Its good to see this movement garnering a lot of attention.
Xavier: I will hop over and read your message. Thanks for stopping by
Steve: Freecycling, what a cool idea, I never even heard of the word. I’ll have to check out your post too by the looks.
Karthik: Yes I agree, I can only hope that it will bring some end result for the earth. But we cannot give up hope otherwise we might as well not live.
Thanks guys for your comments
Monika
