Shake It Up $100 Contest!

image

Halloween has safely been and gone and I haven’t found any ghost floating around my place either. Last month success of my Group Writing Contest gave everyone involved some good exposure and hopefully new readers. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do this month and finally came up with the Shake it Up $100 Contest.

Opposed to last month having sponsored 3 winners, this month the $100 schmakaronies will go to one person only. The beauty of this is that you all have the same chances of getting your grimy little fingers onto the money. Here is how:

The Shake It Up $100 Contest lets you collect brownie points to go into the draw on the 30. November 2007. The draw will be broadcast here on the Writers Manifesto Blog via video stream on the same day.

The more brownie points you collect during the month, the higher your chances at getting lucky in the draw as for every point you will receive 1 entry. On the draw date (30.November 2007) I will put all entries into a bowl and draw the winner.

Who knows, I might even get hubby to give me a hand too.

Rules and How to collect points:

10 points = Make a video review of The Writers Manifesto Blog and hyperlink back to the blog with the URL just like above. (The Writers Manifesto Blog). Reviews need to be a minimum of 30 seconds long and need to be posted on your blog.

5 points = Make a video review of The Writers Manifesto Blog and follow the same instructions as just before. Post on YouTube.

8 points = Write a Review about The Writers Manifesto Blog and include a minimum of 250 words and two hyperlinks. (1 to this contest and 1 to the blog’s home page)

8 points = Write about this Contest and include two hyperlinks back to this Blog. Example post see Another Great Contest To Enter

And yes, if you want to post the videos both on your blog and YouTube you will get 15 points, just make sure you link back right.

4 points = subscribe to my RSS FEED (this includes current subscribers)

3 points = A review on Stumble Upon for my Profile

1 point = Make a comment below this thread and don’t forget to tell me your name for the draw.

All entrants will need to come back here and comment the URL’s of their respective entries, reviews etc. I have to verify each entry and upon doing so your name will go into the draw however many times you have qualified for.

Note: Only entries who follow the guidelines are considered valid and I will verify them to you in the comments section after I have checked.

Even though there is only one winner, every entrant will be listed here when the time comes to announce the winner. So in the least you will get a free backlink from a PR 3 site.

Ok, I hope this just about covers it. If you have any questions please do NOT use the comment section, use my contact page instead. The comment section on this post should be free for all entrants to list their entries.

Enjoy and don’t forget to help me spread the word please.

Thank you and may the luckiest person win. :-)

Monika

Hey what a great idea for a competition! That’ll get you lots of exposure too – I particularly like the idea of getting lots of stumbles – can only be good for your blog!

Oh, by the way count me in – I’ll definitely write you a review but as for video, I’m on the fence about it. Why? Read my post over at WhyDoWork blog when they approve it sometime today!

    Hey Monika –

I just tagged you as part of my Birthday Celebration meme. I hope you will play along :)

Terry: cool, I just saw your promo post, make sure to announce it here so I can count it in for points. :-)

Heather: thank you, I just commented on your post.

YC: Yes, hope it will create some kind of buzz amongst bloggers who like cold hard cash. :-)

    Hi Eric,

Thanks and you are noted down for 5 brownie points. ;-)

  7. Karthik | Nov 4, 2007 | Reply

Well, I’m particularly unlucky with contests and rarely ever participate…but I always like the ones that have guaranteed “prizes” to be won ;) I’ll bite the PR3 link – erm, the name is Karthik btw ;)

I’m already subscribed anyway, but I honestly am not sure how to review your profile on SU, erm, SU is one of those things I want to catch up on…

  8. Monika | Nov 6, 2007 | Reply

Karthik: did I misspell your name? Sorry if I did. You are also noted down for 5 brownie points. :-)

The review my blog in SU you simply click on the link above and in the right hand side you will see a link that says “review this blog”. All you do then is enter a description of your thoughts about my blog. That’s it. Your honest opinion is all that is required for an extra 3 brownie points.

    Thanks
    Monika

Shawal: thank you, you also have 1 brownie point so far.

Just dropping you a line to let you know that I have added your contest to several related categories in our directory.

    http://www.mrprizes.com/individual/listingID_0854.htm

Please feel free to keep me up to date on future listings. Have a great day!

  21. Monika | Nov 14, 2007 | Reply

Narendra: I understand your concerns. After all, the contest is free to participate in and in the worst you will get a PR 3 back link. Naturally this might not be enough for some.

As far as entries, you will get one entry for every point you manage to attain via the easy methods outlined above.

So if you had 17 points for example, your name would be written on 17 papers and tossed into the draw. This will increase your winning chances but in the end it is also luck of the draw. So far you have 2 points since your first comment went into the Spam folder. :-)

Michael: 8 points for you and thanks for participating.

Laura: thanks you, this will get you in the run with 9 brownie points. :-)

Mr. Prizes: thanks for this, I will do that as I’m intending to do more contests.
