Review of Confident 1.com

Posted by Monika in Reviews, ... | 11.10.2007 - 5:25 pm

In last month’s Group Writing Project here on The Writers Manifesto Blog, I gave out $50 as the top price. Second prize was a month long link in my “featured” section and 3rd prize a personal review by myself.

David Rogers from Confident 1 was the lucky person clocking in at 3rd position and this post is to tell you a little bit more about his blog.

David is a blogger whose focus is on helping others overcome self confidence issues. Most of us probably deal with this at one stage or another in life and for many, lacking confidence is what invokes fear. Fear is what cripples most people into action and is the evil of many things.

What attracted me to David’s blog initially is the ability that he has to speak to the real “you”. I was impressed with the simplicity of which he explains this complex topic to us in easy to understand blog posts. I feel like I can relate to him y what he says and many “aha” moments are experienced when I visit David’s blog.

My attraction with personal development started when I got involved in MLM. I was lucky enough to see Jim Rohn, one of the best (in my humble eyes) PD speakers of all times on a few occasions live. And something in this field has always struck a chord with me.

Most of us strive to better themselves in some way. I’m sure of this and therefore we all crave information on how to improve self confidence. David has managed to create a neat and resourceful blog using the clean “cutline” theme by WordPress. The blog is nicely organized and I have found it very easy to navigate and find information.

While David feels that his archive is a bit messy, I actually like the way he groups all the posts into main keyword related titles. You will find blog posts on the following subjects:

  • Anxiety & Fears
  • Perfectionism
  • Appearance
  • Assertiveness
  • Reviews
  • Self Confidence
  • Communication
  • Self Talk
  • Goal Setting
  • Confidence Exercises
  • Thinking
  • What’s Confidence?

So much info should certainly help to curb the most negative person’s anxiety and help them understand that we all suffer in some ways when it comes to self confidence.

The blog also has RSS displayed in a prominent position which I feel is very important. Many bloggers are still loosing potential subscribers because one cannot find the subscribe to RSS button.

I’ve been a subscriber and regular reader on David’s blog for a few month now and I always find new articles that inspire me in some ways. David is very good at his topic and he certainly knows what he writes about as he himself has struggled with self confidence in the past. It has made him a stronger person and now he uses what he learned to help others.

On top of this, David is also very nice person who knows how to communicate which is always a bonus for a blogger. He understands how important it is to have an about page and a contact page on his blog.

I really have no critique for David’s blog. For me it provides a huge amount of information on personal development and that’s all I need to satisfy my ongoing cravings for this topic.

Thanks for the review - I’m really overwhelmed by your positive comments. Perhaps I should now say that the best way to develop self confidence is to start a blog, and then have someone you respect write nice things about it!
