How I Got A New Blog Indexed In 38 Minutes
Some of you know that I’m heavily into niche marketing right now after getting sucked into Vic Franqui’s Blogger Unleashed. The thing is, Vic has taught me more about niche marketing than I learned in 4 years by reading dozens of ebooks.
After Vic blogged about owning your own niche and told us to build a niche site not so long ago, I contemplated the idea and nearly dismissed it on the premises that I wasn’t the type to hunt for news in my hometown. But then I realized that this wasn’t the requirement anyway since there are so many ways we can approach a local niche.
Then yesterday morning I happened to brainstorm local niche ideas for my blog with hubby and when I jumped to Vic’s blog at night there was another post of his were he challenged his readers to get active once and for all.
Go figure!
Naturally I was already pumped up from my brainstorming session earlier in the day and Vic’s post gave me the final push to go and register that domain.
So here it is – the only niche domain I will ever make public! For those of you who work niches heavily you know why. (Hint – Adsense)
Drum roll please……Yeppoon Chronicle
I had to purchase a brand new domain because the name Yeppoon isn’t that popular when it comes to pre-owned ones. LOL
So yes, I know that eventually I will most likely end up in the sandbox, but in this case I fully take the risk as the site requires building up before it can be heavily monetized anyway. Bear in mind that I still need to change hyperlink colours and a few minor things but for starters I think it looks great and reads well too.
A local community news blog – there you have it.
How I got this Blog Indexed By Google Within 38 Minutes
- no, I didn’t submit to search engines (oh my god)
- no, the domain wasn’t pre-owned (remember I only just bought the domain yesterday night)
- no, I didn’t pay someone else to do it for me.
Yes, I invented a new “recipe”
I simply used what I learned from Vic (Blog Marketing), Court (Internet Marketing) and Grizzly (Make Money Online) and that’s it!
Did you expect anything else?
Sorry to disappoint, but that is really it.
38 Minutes! Go Figure!

Nicely done Monika. Looks Good but I need an English/Aussie dictionary to figure out all those bloody words you folks come up with – Finistorumba??? Must have something to do with living upside down – too much blood to the head or something!:)

Great! Congratulations also, I’m getting ready for my local niche roll-out.
Best wishes to you with it, and I can see why Yeppoon isn’t a very popular keyword.

Monika,
Where are you getting the stories for your local niche? I am thinking about doing this, but I don’t know if I really have the time.
Vic | Jan 16, 2008 | Reply
LMAO way cool girl your enthusiasm is contagious and get me pump to see you folks have tons of success.
Matthew | Jan 16, 2008 | Reply
So this article isn’t about anything? You never said how you did it… so whats the point lol
How would be WHAT you learned from them…

Grizzly: LOL, I needed one too, took me nearly longer to come up with a word than getting indexed. So I just made it.
Jasa: let us know once you are up and running and thanks for the heads up
Eliott: Haha…yes, our town is only a little dot on the map, but damn is it nice and scenic. I’ll get some pics uploaded so you guys can all get really mushy and wanting to come over here fast.
Fred: I get them from a combination if newspaper, local goss and friends. I know a lot of local business people and my husband works in the restaurant industry so he picks up a bit here and there too.
As for time, I don’t really have time either, but I make it because I see the potential of this.
Vic: I knew you’d laugh seeing my “index” word.
It might well become the latest craze here with people asking me for the recipe. LOL
Matthew: if you check out my very first story on my new niche blog, you will learn why. I pretty much gave it away there.

Well, I am also not one to hunt for local news and also don’t participate even passively in my community, but I think this is a good way to learn more about my community.
Just a comment, since local niche blog is not like the normal niche blog Vic advocates, where loyal readers is not needed, isn’t “inventing” a recipe will start you off on the wrong foot with your local community?
But I like your guts and creativity, just want to hear your thoughts on this.

bmunch: thank you for your comment and your question. To be honest I don’t think it is a problem at all. Since I basically told my readers why I did this. For all I know it might become a new drink.
Jylan: Hey welcome, a fellow Yeppoonite
Yes, I did mean this post and just left you a comment on your blog.
Thom: you are doing great, well done! 40 visitors a day in 2 weeks for a niche blog is good stuff. Keep it up

Well done Monika, great start. Talking about languages, I loaded up mine on Sunday but was/am still sorting out the template, so I put some lorem ipsum text in it just to flesh it out and check where the widgets would be going. After reading this I checked google and sure nuff it’s indexed. Seems I’ve accidently hit a digital camera key word as well with the domain

Jasa: that is a gift I like to possess too, but time really does stop me from studying web design so I just learn by doing.
Unfortunately I can only help with SEO writing but design wise I have no idea. Sorry, looking forward however to see what you come up with if you care to share.
Stirlyn: hey, that is tops! Well done yourself.
Getting a keyword we target in the domain is the first thing we should all aim for, so doing this will work good for you.

Wow! I am a fan of court’s blog too.
I used his technique and have PR2 within a month and rank for a keyword in a day.
Thanks for sharing. It’s possible!

Is it possible that Google is indexing faster now? I recently started a couple of brand new blogs on brand new domains and they were indexed within a day. The only effort I made was ping 10 services in the 2-3 initial posts. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Monika | Jan 22, 2008 | Reply
Shankar: I’m not sure really as it is hard to predict Google unless you do what I did. Sometimes it takes weeks and other times minutes. I only know that way to get indexed super fast but else I have no idea.

Hi Monica,
Congratulates for the result mentioned here. In fact, you should work towards to get indexed by Google under 10 minutes or less.
I just got that result achieved this morning and it it is within 10 minutes (9 minutes to be exact). Check out the details in my blog post review about Google Indexed Post In 10 Minutes.
In fact, some blog even mentioned in less than 1 minute. That is the goal I want to achieve for my blog.
Keep It Up!!
