Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ar... | 06.30.2008 - 8:00 pm

Niche marketing is big business on the Internet. This post is another installment on my Freelance Writing Guide For New Freelancers. Most people find it hard to imagine what exactly this involves. Niche sites can be built on different platforms, using several models of advertising.

To help you see the bigger picture, here is a list of how a niche could be constructed:

  • BANS sites
  • A product specific site
  • A service specific blog (like freelance writing)
  • A site targeted for Adsense income
  • An affiliate product site
  • A physical product site, involving postal shipping

My Moleskine Hack

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ar... | 06.26.2008 - 4:35 pm

While thinking about more writers tools to help you get through your day with ease I couldn’t let the week go by without my trusted Moleskine hack. In fact, the hack is an adapted version from Mike Rohde’s own Moleskine hack. When I came across his hack late last year I knew I wanted the same system for myself.

The Twelve Business Zodiac Signs

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ar... | 06.19.2008 - 11:42 pm

The attributes of the Western Zodiac has long held fascination with many people. Being associated with the four classical elements of fire, water, air, earth, Zodiac signs are ruled by planetary influences, star constellations as well as the elements itself.

As individuals who run businesses we all fall under the hood of one or several Zodiac signs, whether we like it or not. Their qualities give us a mark of attributes, letting us connect with some people while clashing with others. Astrologers have long built a connection between human compatibilities and the Zodiac signs of our planetary system.

Trim The Fat Of Your Words

trim fat of your words Trim is sexy or so they say. Normally acquainted with weigh tloss, trim is also sexy when it comes to words. By cutting out the fluff in our conversation we manage to attract. Like showing off a fit body we can also show our buff writing when we compose posts.

I have a confession to make. Lately I’ve been checking myself out. Opposed to the mirror where I steal the occasional glimpse I’ve been checking out my word fat. While doing this I noticed an interesting trend.

Is Libel A Rising Issue For Bloggers Worldwide?

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ar... | 06.16.2008 - 7:12 pm

As a blogger I’m always cautious of what I write and how I write it. After all, what I say here can be taken against me if I was to abuse, harass or even speak against somebody in a defamatory way. The fact remains that bloggers worldwide are being taken to court by corporations and single entities because of what they wrote about, which is called libel in legal terms.

WordPress blogs have a very good advantage over traditional websites. They are ideal to rank well in search engines and it is relatively easy to style them for perfect on site SEO. business success quotient

In traditional mathematics a quotient is the result of a divination. When we divide a figure with another one, the resulting number is the actual quotient. But how does this compare to business and what can we do to determine our success quotient?

Wikipedia describes the three main factor of divination as follows:

a - resembles the starting dividend

b - resembles the divisor and

c - resembles the quotient which in our example is business success.
