How To Find The Best Freelance Writing Jobs
Finding freelance writing jobs can be a frustrating experience, especially if you are in desperate need for fast money. From personal experience I find the easiest way to find suitable writing work is by becoming familiar with one job platform to start with. If you try to tackle too many job sites, it can quickly lead to frustration.
Freelance writing jobs are available right now and many of them pay real good money. The secret to finding them is where you look. Unfortunately I don’t have the answer to this either because jobs appear and disappear every single hour. It also depends what type of writing you are targeting. Tech writers can get paid a lot more than an average blogger with no technical experience whatsoever.
It is possible to earn from $50+ per post if you are tech savvy. The reason being is because technical writing often involves more specific research.
The best jobs are also often not advertised anywhere. My suggestion is to become familiar with your target niche/industry and put yourself into the spotlight by being everywhere.
Visit industry leading blogs, make useful and intelligent comments and generally put yourself out there for the world to see. This is an important aspect of your branding efforts and is a must if you ever want to be paid well.
Clients hardly employ a no-name writer to give him or her a top paying freelance writing gig. If they do, grab it with both of your hands.
To find the best freelance writing jobs you need to:
- Be ever present in your niche.
- Get to know the leaders in your field of expertise, as often jobs are given to a friend.
- Deliver outstanding work!
- Always deliver on time.
- Build an online portfolio site.
- Establish yourself as a leader.
- Become familiar with at least one job board/site.
- Ask for referrals.
- Brand yourself.
Remember, the best jobs are not always the first offers you get from a client. Some clients want to see whether you are trustworthy and reliable before they hand over top paying work to you. It isn’t rare that clients upgrade your pay and your responsibilities over time – so never underestimate a client who pays you less than average rates.
Job opportunity for you – are you the right one?
Which leads me to a call to all of you readers who want to earn some extra money with freelance writing. I’m looking to hire a part time writer who is happy to start off with minimal writing rates. At this stage I can offer you a guaranteed $50-$100/week for writing articles for me.
To get specifics you will need to contact me by writing to info [at] the writersmanifesto [DOT] com. This offer is predominantly based at freelance writers who want to get started in the industry, but it not limited to anybody. A word of warning though, do not apply if you expect top rate payments. I do try to be fair but need to run and expand my own business first before I can offer you top dollars for your work.
The way I see it, it is an opportunity for new writers (or older ones) and one thing is for sure, you will be paid more than I did when I first got started.
Anyway, feel free to get back to me on that. I will need one sample article from all applicants, but more on this in our email communications (please do NOT supply a sample until you have heard from me first!).
Cheers
Monika
