Magnolia,

I find it most difficult to toss the computer aside. I do so many other things with it! But I hear you. I'd love to tuck it into the closet for a week!

Chris,

I kinda figured you knew the wisdom of this.

I really do feel a whole lot better once I've been able to take a break. And I owe it to my audience to keep my writing fresh and inspired. Not really fair to make them slug through half-inspired, have-to writing!

I've been giving myself a timeout from my blogs. I have many.

I realized I was becoming a slave and was miserable. So, I'm disengaging and trying to re-evaluate many things I've been ignoring.

Blogging had become my "drug" of choice to avoid and ignore.

It actually feels pretty good to back away. Now, if I could put my computer away for a few weeks. :)

I couldn't agree more. I doesn't matter how passionate you are about something or even how much you enjoy it, we all need a break. We're only human. I have done that myself and said screw it and just farted around all day. Spent some time with the family and my other hobbies.

Sometimes I even log off of everything, chat, email, tweetdeck and just more or less forget about it. Just get my mind of things for awhile.

It may seem like you are deserting things, but it's amazing how much more focused it makes you. I come back refreshed and ready to go!

Good post, thank you.
