"Your client thinks you’re an idiot. The feeling is mutual."

lol

Good post.

....and you're right - how the heck do you insert keywords contextually in a topic that has nothing to do with those keywords. I guess it's just part and parcel of dealing with clients in general, especially when it comes to SEO. I think communication is the key here, as you alluded too.

Hey Mary Anne, thanks for your response. I thought I may have ventured into some sort of taboo territory here and no one (apart from the awesome Tumblemoose who always comments) wanted to speak up. It's a balancing act to be sure, and where it tips either way is highly subjective. As you say, the bottom line is more than the money; if a project is so tough it makes you miserable then it probably ain't worth it, especially if it sets a precedent for future misery-making work. Thanks. Until next time ... Mark

Excellent post (yeah, I'm a little behind on my reading). I don't speak up nearly enough--guess it's fear of losing the client altogether. But I agree it's better to take that risk than make yourself miserable trying to fit the ugly stepsister's foot into Cinderella's glass slipper.

Mark,

Hehe. Filed under "Great minds think alike."

I just (not 5 minutes ago) finished writing a post on Keyword article writing. Ought to be a good follow up to yours. I don't mind playing second fiddle to greatness.

Cheers!
