Planning Your Future Writing Gigs

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ma... | 02.23.2008 - 11:15 am

Many freelance writers make one fatal mistake in their business. They wait until they run dry before they plan their future freelance writing gigs. Big mistake! If you do this, you will only hurt yourself in the end, since you are the person suffering most when no money comes through.

You don’t really drive a car until your fuel runs out do you

Unless of course you run out of money to fuel up beforehand. Running out of work as a freelance writer is inevitable at times. Sometimes you can plan all you want, only to find that your new client pulls back at the last minute.

Building Niche Sites

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ma... | 12.20.2007 - 12:39 am

Building niche sites is the only way for bloggers to really make some decent money online. Building niche sites is what I’m doing right now. I have my hand in about 3 different niche projects all done different. By now I know that building niche sites works with all these 3 methods, but I would still try to see which one works best over time.

You could call this my project studies and the only way I can truly compare the 3 methods with each other is once the niches are up and running. There are actually a lot more ways to build niche sites. Below are ways on how you can build a niche:

Earn $300 in 20 Days - Case Study Day 1-3

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ma... | 12.02.2007 - 1:05 am

I recently joined the private tutoring program by Codrut Turcanu on a recommendation I saw on Caroline Middlebrook’s blog.

The idea of the program is to make $300 in 20 days with affiliate marketing and this post plus a set of posts to follow are going to be my case study about my progress. I admit that despite having cracked the Squidoo code about 5 month ago by setting up a couple of lenses using the bum marketing method and getting them ranked high in the search engines within 1 week and managing to earn affiliate income within 1 month, it really didn’t evolve into much.

Viral Words Puzzle

Posted by Monika in Freelance Writing Ma... | 09.13.2007 - 1:31 am

There is a lot of viral linky love going around the Internet right now. Some are done by URL’s and others by stars and what not else. That got me thinking on how I can start my own link train worming its’ way around the Internet. I came up with the idea to create a word puzzle that would link each contributor to their chosen keyword. Ideally we should all try to choose different words. Preferably you would want to choose a word that is somewhat related to your business.

Tracking Hits

I confess that since being able to implement Google Analytics and Crazy Egg into my stats, I am fascinated by them. What I found is that my traffic spikes between 4 AM and 5 AM. Maybe all the sleepless ghosts of the darkness are frequenting the Internet at night. What I’m not too sure about is whether those times are actually U.S.times (as my hosting is over there) or Australian times. Logically I would guess that they are in fact in the U.S.

The biggest amount of traffic is indeed received from the U.S. market. I suppose I could just keep looking at them stats until whenever, but there is a reason behind my madness.
