This is a post that might cause some controversy. To be honest however, I don’t care because the message here is so strong that I can’t worry about certain people’s egos being hurt.

It is a topic that is close to my heart. Not only because it affects a good friend of mine, but it also affects all of you out there who struggle from day to day, trying to make ends meet by paying your bills and feeding your family.

This post has been inspired by Skellie’s latest blog entry on her Top 10 Blogging Tips for Freelancers. She writes that as a freelance writer we shouldn’t accept blog posts that pay less than $50 for 500 words.

Well, in this instance I’m making an announcement. Calling ALL prospective new and existing clients who are willing to pay me $50 for 500 word blog posts.

Admittedly I’m taking the piss. Pardon my French. It’s just that getting these kind of rates are not advertised on conventional job boards. At least not were I’m looking - and I’ve scoured many in my time online.

Lately there have been some interesting and sometimes entertaining “conversations” between bloggers who don’t see eye to eye. I’m sure this phenomena of humans interacting with each other on less than bad terms has been around for a long time. After all we can’t possibly agree on everything we say, do and act on.

We all make mistakes, know people we respect and love and know others we detest. But is the latter an invitation to publicly slam others because they are doing things different from us?

I’d dare to say no!

What’s the go with everybody freaking out about the imminent Page Rank update with Google? I have been looking at various forum and blog posts in the last few weeks and everywhere people seem to freak out on what’s happening. Common, take a chill pill and stop putting so much weight on the Page Rank number. Isn’t the fact that we need to write good content more important than having this almighty number displayed in our tool bars.

Well I just did it! I got rid of Google Adwords on my site once and for all. To be honest they give me the s… I never made a cent using them. So why waste valuable ad space for something that doesn’t seem to work. Even the pros who used to make thousands in the past are now only claiming to make a couple of $100 per months. Given the fact that they have huge mailing lists and thousands of website visitors per day it is understandable.

Many online marketers get confused and scared with all that’s on offer to us in the online business marketplace. Let’s face it, our email inboxes get filled with offers left right and center to join the latest online business wonder. Quite frankly I’m sick of it. I am actually unsubscribing from every Tom, Dick and Harry’s email responders because I am sick and tired of being hounded to the point of exhaustion.
I suppose you could say blame me for subscribing in the first place. But let us be honest here. If we want to stay competitive and play parts of the online business game, we have to be part of the inner circle.
